Developing Leadership Skills: HR Programs for Identifying and Cultivating Future Leaders

A key component of HR programs for identifying and fostering potential leaders inside an organization is the development of leadership abilities. Both candidates seem to have professional backgrounds, necessary degrees, and relevant experience. So how do you choose the applicant who would fit the position the best? The best applicant can be found in this situation using the talent assessment procedure. Various methods and tests are used by HR programs to identify individuals who have the potential to be leaders. These evaluations could consist of comments from superiors and coworkers, personality tests, potential leadership evaluations, and 360-degree performance appraisals. By analyzing the data, HR can identify people who exhibit the traits and abilities necessary for leadership positions (Fulmer, 2012).


Leadership development programs

For the high-potential employees who have been identified, HR develops and implements leadership development programs. Workshops, seminars, webinars, coaching, and mentorship sessions can all be a part of these programs. Communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking are some of the topics that are covered in the course (Gardner, 2021).
